At Durban Landscaping & Garden Maintenance, we’re passionate about caring for people as much as we care for the spaces we look after. That’s why every September, we lace up our shoes and take part in The Better Challenge – raising funds and awareness for The Kids’ Cancer Project, an incredible organisation dedicated to finding better treatments and cures for childhood cancer.
Going the Distance for a Cause
This year, the Durban team went above and beyond – quite literally! Together, our amazing crew racked up over 465.54 kilometres across the month of September, walking, running, hiking, and even gardening their way to greatness.
Through the generous support of family, friends, clients, and partners from all over Victoria and Queensland, we proudly raised a total of $5,409 for The Kids’ Cancer Project. Every kilometre counted, and every donation helped fund vital research that gives kids with cancer a brighter, healthier future.
A Challenge Close to Our Hearts
The Better Challenge isn’t just a once-off effort for us – it’s become a Durban tradition. Each year, our team rallies together to do something meaningful outside of our day-to-day work, proving that when we combine purpose with passion, we can make a real impact.
From early morning walks to after-work jogs, to even getting the steps in at work...everyone pitched in. The challenge sparked friendly competition, plenty of laughter, and a powerful reminder that when we move together, we can change lives together!!
Why We Do It
Supporting The Kids’ Cancer Project is about more than just fundraising – it’s about standing behind children and families facing one of life’s toughest battles. It’s about hope, compassion, and doing our bit to create a better future.
At Durban, we’re proud to keep this spirit alive year after year, knowing that every step we take brings us closer to making a difference.
Until Next Time
We couldn’t be prouder of our team, our supporters, and the community that makes this all possible. A huge thank you to everyone who donated, cheered us on, and helped us reach (and exceed!) our goal.
Until next time – keep moving, keep giving, and keep making things better. 💛
